Anji Bai Cha Green tea is increasingly popular in China and around the world.

James has known his friend Charlie Xu and his family from Anji, since 2010 and has visited the tea garden several times. Charlies' family own and cultivate tea on one of the highest mountains in Anji.

Anji Bai Cha green tea gets it's name from the cultivar, which originated Ningbo, also in Zhejiang. This albino cultivar has been shown in some scientific studies to produce proportionately high levels of amino acids and polyphenols.

We hope you enjoy the latest addition to the Wan Ling Tea House range. As always, we would love your feedback on our teas and our online tea shop. All comments welcomed.

Tea Facts and Tea Region Information

Mt. Changlong, opposite the Jiangnan Heavenly Lake in Tianhuangping, is one of the highest tea plantation in Anji County at an altitude of around 910m.

Mt. Changlong is renowned for its variable climates and dense all year around mists; the result is less direct sunshine which helps reduce compounds such as catechuic acid in the tea leaf which give a bitter taste , while increasing the amounts of L-Theanine and soluble nitrogen, which jointly contribute to sweetness in the tea. Moreover, the tips are milder and tea leaves are thicker, containing more pectin. Thisis why the green tea from this region is renowned for its distinctive white buds; sweetness and mellow taste; smooth and soft mouth feel ; natural and elegant aroma; long and lingering aftertaste; all in a tea that can be infused multiple times.
