A classic black tea. Lapsang Souchong tea is known throughout the world for it's distinctive smoky flavour, delicate leaves and enchanting amber liquor. Specially selected by Wan Ling to balance a broad range of black tea flavours with the wood smoke, without being over powering like some high street flavoured versions. A truly balanced experience.

Wan Ling selected this Lapsang Souchong for it's traditional style and careful artisan preparation. Originating from Zheng Shan or Zheng mountain in the WuYi mountain region of FuJian, Lapsang Souchong tea is known as Zheng Shan Xiao Zhong or Zheng Mountain variety.

Our 2013 Lapsang Souchong has been kept stored in WuYi to allow the tea to settle until the spring of 2015. This is very important for such teas as it allows the smokiness to permeate the leaf and the natural fragrant. aromatic oils that are present in the leaf.

Superb tea that is highly recommended. If you have only tried high street or big brand Lapsang Souchong teas you should really experience this tea, it will change your preconceptions.

Like many black teas, Lapsang Souchong tea changes and matures over time. Certain flavours soften and other become more pronounced. Stored well, this tea should bring you superb flavours for many years.
