Cha Dao - Tea Tools

A range of tea tool sets are available to meet your preferences and to match tea sets & trays. Wan Ling is always available to explain the use of each and to even give a demonstration. If you are interested her classes give you the opportunity to get hands on experience and ask those questions that come up only once you've practiced a few times.

The picture opposite shows a box for tea tools with a funnel, spoon, cha ze, clipper and needle. Wan Ling normally stocks tea tools in wood or bamboo.

For those looking for cha dao just that little bit different then Wan Ling offers an ever changing range of hand made tea tools. Opposite you can see an ornately finished set of bamboo clippers.

Brushes, towels, strainers & stands, cup cleaning bowls & electric disinfectors are also available. Please visit the shop or email us for specific requirements.

Zi Sha Accessories

Something that intrigues many people on visiting a Chinese tea shop or home are the range of often strange looking animals & creatures sat on or by the tea tray. These are usually made from the semi-poreous Zi Sha clay. It can initially be shocking to watch expensive tea being poured away over these objects but from practical point of view the tea, over time, alters the colour and appearence of the clay and from a spiritual perspective people believe that ‘feeding’ the creatures ensures an on going flow of good fortune; harmony; peace and that evil is kept at bay. They are yet another example of art and tea being closely entwined.

Kettles

To ensure that water is prepared to the optimum temperature that a quality kettle is used. Most kettles Wan Ling stocks are two piece ones with a separate base and kettle unit that ensure easy & convenient use. A number of styles and colours (colors) are available to meet your needs.

The kettle here includes three modes of operation, on, off or automatic. The automatic mode ensures water is kept at a usable temperature. As a safety measure if there is insufficient water the kettle will switch off.

NB: We will NOT provide kettles to the US or European Union by mail order. If you purchase a kettle from us, we provide no warranty or guarentee for its safe use outside of China.
